Mud or Mudh is a remote village located in Spiti Tehsil of Lahul & Spiti district in Himachal Pradesh, India. It is the last village in the valley and lies at a distance of about 50 km from Kaza. Mud village is situated on the banks of PIN PARVATI River and from here one can start PIN BHABHA pass and PIN PARVATI pass treks.
Pin Valley is best known for the Siberian ibex and the rare snow leopard. The elevation of the park ranges from about 3,500 metres (11,500 ft) near Ka Dogri to more than 6,000 metres (20,000 ft) at its highest point. The mountains here appear red, black and brown in color.
Here you can try your chance to spot a snow leopard and several other interesting animals like, Tibetan wolf, Canis lupus, the Tibetan gazelle, Royle's pika, Red fox, Bharal, the Himalayan brown bear and Himalayan blue sheep. Mud has a population of about 213 with total 45 families. People here have converted their homes to home stays and small restaurants for the Travelers. The best time to visit Mud is from June end to September end.
