Kalpa is a small town situated at an altitude of 2759 mt above sea level, on the old India-Tibet Road at a distance of 260 km from Shimla.
Kalpa came into prominence in the wake of British Governor General Lord Dalhousie’s visit in the 19th century. It has all the characteristics of a heritage village. Lying in the Sutlej River Valley, it is a place to enjoy nature and cherish memories. Known for its many beautiful temples and monasteries, this town is also famed for its sprawling apple orchards.
