Kanyakumari, also known as Cape Comorin, is the southernmost tip of mainland India. It is sometimes referred to as the Land's End. Lying at the tip of peninsular India, it is the confluence of the Arabian sea, the Bay of Bengal, and the Indian Ocean. On the shores of the town is a temple dedicated to Goddess Kanyakumari (the virgin Goddess), after which the town is named.

Other famous attractions of Kanyakumari are the 133 feet Thiruvalluvar Statue and Vivekananda Rock Memorial off the coast.

Since ancient times, Kanyakumari has been one of the major centers of religion, art, and culture. Famed for being the only place in India where you can observe the sunrise and sunset at the same beach.

Kanyakumari is a very popular tourist destination, not just because of this unique geographical phenomenon, but also because of its pristine beaches as well as its temples and churches which attract a huge number of tourists.
