My friend and I had an amazing time in India and couldn't have planned it without Bout India. We gave them a budget, selected the cities and some of the sites and Bout India did the rest. We were so well looked after from the time we arrived to the time we left.
Our driver for 15 days was Bhanwar. He picked us up from the airport and stayed with us throughout our itinerary from New Delhi, to Agra, Jaipur and Jodhpur, Udaipur and Ahmedabad. He is an amazing driver. We felt safe at all times in the hectic traffic. He kept the car clean, well stocked and was very pleasant and helpful always.
Gaurav was our main contact with Bout India, and Kunal and Himanshu also kept in touch. I was worried prior to the trip that if I had any difficulties, I should save contact information on my phone as well as hard copies. But there is no need to worry. One of them contacts you daily to ensure your trip is going well. The hotel bookings were all taken care of as well as the guides for each day. All we had to do was get in the car. Thank you Gaurav for staying on top of everything and for being so thoughtful.
The guides were well informed, particularly Umer in Ahmedabad. His love for the city that his family has lived in for generations shone through. To see this city through is eyes was a treat. I was very impressed with his knowledge of history that I think he should consider teaching it. He treated us to all the local hotspots with personal stories intertwined. This was our favourite city to visit. The Sun Temple, Rani Ka Vav as well as the Manak night market were all very memorable.
Our guides in Jaipur and Jhodpur were both named Karnie. They were both so good as well. We experienced a maze of alleyways at one market in Jaipur where the locals shop and not tourists. The monkey temple in Jaipur was awesome. Jhodpur was our next favourite city. Jaswant Thada in Johdpur is a must see. Karnie let us enjoy the sites at our own pace and also took us to local markets. I purchased some beautiful glass bangles for 100 INR for 12 bangles.
Our driver in Mumbai was Shamsher. He was so kind and thoughtful that he deserves a mention. The Elephant caves were definitely worth visiting.
If I have any suggestions it would be to do your research on not only the sites but where you want to eat as well as shop. Sometimes guides take you to expensive restaurants and shops from which they receive a kickback. Although that was not our experience, we heard stories from other tourists.
Another suggestion would be to ask about tipping the guide and driver. Tipping in India is 10% at restaurants, but expect to tip more for the drivers and guides. Since you don't know what the drivers and guides are being paid, I suggest Bout India disclose that information or give you a range prior to your trip so that you can factor that into your budget.
Overall, I would select Bout India for my next trip and highly recommend them. Thank you Bout India!
