Tucked along the eastern banks of Lal Ghat on Lake Pichola, Kankarwa Haveli is a beautifully restored early-19th-century townhouse of the noble Kankarwa family, a branch connected to Maharana Pratap and the early settlers of Udaipur. Restored in the early 1990s, it's become one of the city's most cherished heritage stays—still lovingly run by the family.
Within its layered courtyard and gentle pastel façades, the haveli carries timeless grace. Each of its 16 rooms and suites is unique, decorated with local crafts, antique chandeliers, vibrant textiles, and thoughtful touches, yet offers modern comforts like air conditioning, ensuite bathrooms with tubs, and 24-hour hot water. Technology takes a back seat here—there are no TVs or phones in rooms, fostering a peaceful, unplugged ambiance.
Service feels personal and attentive, often with warm guidance from hosts like Janardan or Divyarishi, who are known to share local stories and itineraries with a personal touch.
