Manali is a year-round magnet. Backpackers come to hang out in the hippie villages around the main town; adventurers come for trekking, climbing, rafting and skiing; Indian families and honeymooners come for the mountain air and a taste of snow on the 3978m Rohtang La pass. 

Shimla, the capital of Himachal, is one of India's most popular hill resorts, buzzing with a happy flow of Indian summer vacationers. Take a stop in between at Chandigarh, the beautiful city which shows itself off to global travellers much like greater India would wish to be seen – prosperous, comfortable and cosmopolitan.

Arrival - Chandigarh

Bout India services start from Chandigarh.

Day 1 - Shimla

Arrive at Chandigarh by flight. ‘The City Beautiful’. It is the best-planned and one of the cleanest cities in India. A private car will pick you up from Chandigarh Airport and head towards Shimla. Strung out along a 12km ridge, with steep forested hillsides falling away in all directions, the Himachal capital is a good appetite-whetter for the awe-inspiring mountain tracts of the state's interior. 

Reach Shimla by afternoon. Check in at the hotel and relax. 

Evening at your leisure. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Shimla.

Day 2 - Shimla

After breakfast, head out for sightseeing. The car will drop you at the parking lot close to the Mall road, beyond which private vehicles are not allowed. Visit Christ Church, the second-oldest church in northern India. 

Then visit The Ridge, Mall Road & Scandal Point, the favourite hangouts in Shimla. Then visit Lakkar Bazar, where you can find some wooden handicrafts, souvenirs, shawls, natural herbs & dry fruits. 

After that, visit The Viceregal Lodge. The Viceroy Lodge may have been used by modern India presidents but it was conceived at the height of the British raj and their absolute control over the whole of India. 

In the evening, return to the hotel. Overnight stay will be at the hotel in Shimla.

Day 3 - Banjar

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and head towards Banjar, a small town in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, popularly known as “Valley of God”. It connects Kullu to Shimla via Jalori Pass. The valley is also a gateway to the Great Himalayan National Park. Banjar valley is a perfect stop between Shimla and Manali, and offers good weather, stunning views and plenty of adventure. 

Reach Banjar by early evening. Check in at the hotel & relax. Evening at your leisure. 

Dinner & overnight stay will be at the hotel in Banjar.

Day 4 - Banjar

After breakfast, head out for sightseeing. You can enjoy a short hike at the Great Himalayan National Park. The Great Himalayan National Park Conservation Area (GHNPCA) as a Natural Site was inscribed into the UNESCO World Heritage List during the session of the 38th World Heritage Committee in Doha, the State of Qatar, on 23rd June 2014.

Return to the hotel by late afternoon. The evening is at your leisure.

Dinner & overnight stay will be at the hotel in Banjar.

Day 5 - Manali

After breakfast, check out of the cottage and head towards Manali. A beautiful driving experience through the Himalayas, and then you arrive in Manali. It lies at an altitude of 2,050 m (6,726 ft) in the Beas River Valley.

Reach Manali by afternoon. Check in to the hotel & relax. The evening is at your leisure. You can do the cycling in nearby villages since your hotel is on the outskirts of Manali town. 

Dinner & overnight stay will be at a hotel in Manali.

Day 6 - Manali

After a nice breakfast, set out to visit Solang Valley. Solang is not just about adventure activities. Its lush greenery, apple orchards, snowcapped peaks and lakes attract lakhs of visitors from India and abroad every year. Giant slopes of lawn comprise Solang Valley and give it its reputation as a popular ski resort.  A few ski agencies offering courses and equipment reside here and operate only during the winter.

After that, visit the famous Atal Tunnel. At a length of 9.02 km, it is the longest tunnel above 10,000 feet (3,048 m) in the world. Then visit Sissu, a small town in the Lahaul valley of Himachal Pradesh in India. It is around 40 km from Manali and located on the right bank of Chandra river. A drive out of the North End of the Rohtang/Atal Tunnel will take you to Sissu, set amidst high peaks like the Gyephang Gompa. It draws many visitors owing to the breathtaking view of the waterfall, locally called Palden Lhamo Dhar.

Day 7 - Manali

After breakfast, drive to Naggar and on the way visit Jagatsukh, located on the bank of the Beas River on the road to Naggar. The place is famous for very old temples of Lord Shiva and Sandhya Gayatri in Shikara Style. These are worth a visit. 

Then proceed to visit Rohriech Art Gallery, where the paintings of the famous Russian artist are exhibited, followed by a visit to Naggar Castle, the old capital of Kullu. It gives a captivating view of the upper Kullu Valley. You also get a fabulous view of hill farming, and you will also pass by the famous movie shooting site, Nishala. Visit the famous Kais Monastery where you can spend your time in peace & serenity. 

Back to the hotel by evening. Dinner & overnight stay will be at the hotel in Manali.

Day 8 - Manali

After breakfast, visit Vashisht, famous for the Vashisht Temple and hot water springs. Afterwards, visit “HADIMBA TEMPLE” built in 1553 with a superbly crafted four-tiered pagoda roof, it is famous for its exquisitely carved doorway and the jungle park in which the temple is built. 

After that, visit Van Vihar. Adorned with sky-touching deodar trees, Van Vihar National Park is located near the Mall Road, making it easily accessible. The favourite attraction of this park is a man-made lake that is open for boating. Afterwards, hang out at the Mall Road, often referred to as the heart of the town.

Reach back at the hotel by evening. Dinner & overnight stay will be at the hotel in Manali.

Day 9 - Manali

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Bhuntar Airport for your return flight.
