After completing the check-in and boarding formalities, you are escorted to your luxurious cabin aboard the Maharajas' Express, one of the world’s most opulent trains. As you settle into the elegant surroundings, the train slowly begins its journey, chugging out of Delhi and heading toward the Pink City, Jaipur. Midway through the journey, guests are invited to savour a lavish brunch onboard, served in one of the train’s fine-dining restaurants, offering a gourmet spread of Indian and international delicacies.
By evening, the train arrives in Jaipur, where you are hosted at an exclusive off-train venue for a royal dinner experience, reflecting the grandeur of Rajasthan’s legendary hospitality. After dinner, guests return to the train for an overnight stay in the plush comforts of their cabin, as the Maharajas’ Express continues its majestic voyage.
The day begins with a lavish breakfast onboard the Maharajas’ Express, featuring an indulgent spread of both Indian and international cuisine served in the train’s elegant dining car.
After breakfast, guests disembark to visit the spectacular Amber Fort, an architectural masterpiece and a UNESCO World Heritage Site nestled in the Aravalli Hills. Built from red sandstone and marble, the fort is famed for its majestic gates, mirror work, intricate carvings, and the breathtaking Sheesh Mahal (Hall of Mirrors). The guided tour brings to life the rich history of the Rajput rulers who once resided within its walls.
After returning from this regal excursion, guests are treated to a sumptuous lunch aboard the train, offering time to relax and reflect on the morning’s grandeur. The afternoon is left at leisure, overnight stay in your luxurious cabin, as the Maharajas’ Express makes its way to the next royal destination—Sawai Madhopur, home of the famous Ranthambore National Park.
As the sun rises, the Maharajas’ Express arrives at Sawai Madhopur, the gateway to one of India’s premier wildlife destinations—Ranthambore National Park.
Guests disembark early in the morning for an exhilarating game safari, venturing deep into the forest in search of the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger, as well as leopards, sloth bears, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birdlife. The safari offers not only thrilling wildlife encounters but also views of the ancient Ranthambore Fort nestled within the park.
After the adventure, guests return to the train for a hearty and delicious breakfast onboard as the train resumes its journey towards Fatehpur Sikri, the mysterious and once-glorious capital of Emperor Akbar. Guests enjoy a relaxing lunch onboard before disembarking to explore this magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site. The guided tour takes you through majestic red sandstone structures such as Buland Darwaza, Jama Masjid, and the palaces of Akbar’s queens—each echoing tales of grandeur and abandonment.
As dusk falls, guests return to the Maharajas’ Express, where a gourmet dinner awaits. The train continues onward to its next enchanting stop—Agra, home to one of the world’s most iconic monuments.
Early morning arrival in the city of Agra, where guests disembark for a visit to the Taj Mahal, the crown jewel of India and one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Bathed in the soft light of dawn, this iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site stands as an eternal symbol of love, built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Guests are guided through its marble beauty, intricate inlay work, and evocative history, all set against the backdrop of serene gardens and the Yamuna River.
After the tour, a sumptuous breakfast is served at an exclusive venue, offering a royal culinary experience with a view that complements the majesty of the morning’s visit. Guests return to the train, where lunch is served onboard, allowing for some leisure and relaxation.
In the afternoon, the journey continues with an excursion to the grand Agra Fort, yet another UNESCO World Heritage Site, where Mughal architecture, history, and power come alive through its vast courtyards and opulent halls.
The evening concludes with dinner and an overnight stay onboard, as the Maharajas’ Express sets course for the next destination—Orchha and Khajuraho.
The fifth day of your royal journey begins with an early morning arrival at the quaint riverside town of Orchha, once a princely state of the Bundela Rajputs. Guests disembark to explore the historical charm of this hidden gem, where time seems to stand still amidst cenotaphs, temples, and fort palaces lining the Betwa River.
After the morning excursion, guests return to the Maharajas’ Express to enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast onboard, followed later by a leisurely lunch as the train continues toward Khajuraho. Upon arrival, guests embark on a guided tour of the world-renowned Western Group of Temples, a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its stunning sculptures and intricate carvings that reflect India’s rich cultural, spiritual, and artistic heritage.
These 10th–11th century temples, built by the Chandela dynasty, stand as masterpieces of Indian temple architecture, most famous for their expressive and detailed depictions of human life and divine themes.
After a captivating visit, guests return to the train for a relaxing dinner on board. As the night unfolds, the Maharajas’ Express departs for its next spiritual destination — the holy city of Varanasi.
Brings you to the sacred city of Varanasi, one of the world’s oldest continuously inhabited cities and a revered spiritual hub for Hindus and Buddhists alike. Guests begin the day with a leisurely breakfast onboard, followed by time to relax and enjoy the comforts of the train as it makes its way through the heart of India.
After a freshly prepared lunch, the cultural exploration begins with a visit to the renowned Silk Weaving Centre, where artisans craft the exquisite Banarasi sarees, known for their intricate patterns, zari work, and rich textures. Guests gain insight into the centuries-old weaving traditions that have made Varanasi a global name in textile artistry.
The tour continues with an excursion to Sarnath, a deeply spiritual site where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment. The area is dotted with serene stupas, monasteries, and the famous Dhamek Stupa, offering a tranquil experience amidst ancient Buddhist heritage.
As the sun begins to set, guests head to the ghats of the River Ganges for a mesmerising boat ride. Floating past the ghats, they witness the stunning evening Aarti—a ritual of lights and chants performed by priests, with thousands of oil lamps illuminating the riverfront in a breathtaking spiritual spectacle.
The experience is both humbling and soul-stirring. Afterwards, guests are hosted for dinner at an exclusive venue, immersing them once more in the rich flavours and ambience of India. The night concludes as guests return to the Maharajas’ Express for an overnight stay onboard, as the train begins its final journey back to Delhi.
As the Maharajas’ Express glides into Delhi on the seventh and final day of the Indian Panorama journey, guests wake up to the bittersweet feeling of an extraordinary adventure coming to a close. A leisurely breakfast is served onboard, allowing you to soak in the last moments of opulence, comfort, and impeccable hospitality that have defined your voyage.
As the train pulls into the station, a traditional farewell ceremony awaits, where the staff—who have been your gracious hosts throughout the journey—bid you goodbye with warmth and heartfelt gratitude. With memories of majestic palaces, ancient forts, wildlife safaris, spiritual rituals, and culinary delights, guests disembark with not just souvenirs but stories etched in their hearts.

Bout India was amazing in helping us to plan a very last minute trip to the amazing Spiti valley! Initially Nitesh and Kunal were able to put together a super itinerary based on our preference, and made their recommendations accordingly. They were able to put us at ease as we had not worked with Bout before, especially given that we had to make the entire payment upfront because of the timeframe. They were able to put us in touch with the local agent in Manali. Geet took over the communication before we reached Manali, and was checking with us constantly throughout the trip. She was able to incorporate places that were not initially planned in the tri.... Read More
