Allahabad, now officially known as Prayagraj, is one of the oldest cities in India. Located in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh, it is situated at the confluence of three rivers - Ganga, Yamuna, and the mythological Saraswati. The meeting point is known as Triveni and is very sacred to Hindus. The Kumbh, a fair held every six years, and Mahakumbh, held in every 12 years at the Sangam (confluence) are the largest gatherings of pilgrims on this earth.

Built during the reign of Akbar, this fort is also a fine example of Mughal architecture.
