Talabgaon is a quiet rural village in the Dausa district of Rajasthan, located about 90 kilometres south of Jaipur and midway between the Pink City and Ranthambore National Park. It sits well off the tourist trail, offering a genuine taste of Rajasthani village life away from the crowds of the larger cities.

The main draw is Talabgaon Castle, a 200-year-old fort built in the Rajput style, now restored and run as a heritage hotel by the Rathore family, who have owned it for generations. The family still lives at the castle, which gives the place a warm, personal feel that sets it apart from more commercial heritage properties. The castle features ornate painted glass panels, carved stone pillars, and intricate wall work, all created by local craftsmen from the surrounding region. Guests can explore nearby villages and temples, enjoy lunch at a traditional mud house on a local farm, and watch the family's annual polo tournament held every April on the castle's own polo field. The surrounding countryside, with its open farmland and rural landscapes, is the real highlight of a stay here.
